Should a Compilation Suffer Because of One Bad Author?

So, we're all duly appraised of the Kathleen-Hale-is-batshit situation. And if people want to boycott her work, or give her work 1-star reviews, I have no arguments. Her behavior is unjustifiable. However, I DO NOT agree with people giving 1-star reviews to a COMPILATION they have NOT read, just because she is one of 26 other contributors, especially as she was accepted into the collection before her behavior was known. To affect the work and livelihoods of other writers and the editor of the collection is unfair, petty, and makes readers look like assholes.

What prompts this randomness? Hale was a contributor to Never Can Say Goodbye: Writers on Their Unshakable Love for New York. Thanks to recent events, reviewers (Goodreaders specifically) have been giving 1-star ratings to the collection, in "retaliation" against Hale, clearly stating they have not read it. I'm sorry, but this is just NOT COOL, GUYS.

Just my thoughts.
