I don't know how much the numbers have changed since 2011, but they make me sad. Not just because fewer people read a lot of books, but because even those of us who want to read more feel like we have to direct so much of ourselves elsewhere. If I read less than 50 books a year (which is true-I've averaged about 40 for the last two years), it isn't for lack of trying. However, I do still believe it should be quality over quantity, always.
