Review (sorta): Paper Girls Vol. 1

Paper Girls Volume 1 - Cliff Chiang, Brian K. Vaughan

This series is batshit crazy, in the absolute best way.

Four twelve-year-old newspaper delivery girls (vanguards in 1988) get tangled up in a weird, maybe-time-travel-maybe-not mystery of epic proportions.

It calls to mind all of the great pre-pubescent ensemble coming-of-age flicks in the 80s and 90s-- only with four badass GIRLS--with a heavy dash of Donnie Darko-esque wtfuckery. Bananapants plotting and gorgeous art. I’m hooked and I want more.
