#Bookadayuk Day 24: Something To Do With Gatsby/Fitzgerald/The 20s (F. Scott Fitzgerald's Birthday)

Bobbed Hair and Bathtub Gin: Writers Running Wild in the Twenties - Marion Meade

Perhaps it's ironic-or merely just fitting- to select Bobbed Hair and Bathtub Gin in celebration of F. Scott Fitzgerald's birthday, since the book is all about women writers in the 20s, one of which was his wife Zelda. I read this book in college, when I was on a hardcore artists/writers/bohemians kick (I was an art major), and it was the first time I learned about the Zelda-F.Scott relationship, and how she was a major "inspiration" for his work- that is, he pretty much lifted chunks of her life for his fiction. All four of the writers Meade chose are fascinating, but Zelda stuck with me.
